INDIA / The South

If thoughts of temples and tigers appeal, then Tamil Nadu is the place to be. With a Sound-of-Music-in-India backdrop of rolling mountain scenery, craggy peaks, manicured tea estates and crisp mountain air, Munnar really hits the spot after the sticky heat of the lowlands. The real emerald jewel in South India´s crown are the backwaters that meander throughout Kerala. We will cruise them on a houseboat - "an entry in our top 10 things-to-do-before-you-die list". Our tour finishes at the beach resort of Varkala with its stunning cliffs. (Quote Lonely Planet)
